![]() I did use to play df classic a lot tho so i m aware of a few issues, what has to be kept in check not to evoke fps-probs or what to do when it happens. if one of the dwarves is stuck in a tree and spams the job scheduling trying to come out, or when i open up cavern entrances with maze-like paths. Now i'm 27 years ingame, 120 dwarfs, and my fort still runs at about 68 - 100FPS, with spikes above 100 when i clean out the animals. Res seems to make a huge difference in steam edition, as i read in various comments of ppl struggling with higher res settings and fps. ![]() I turn max fps to 200 (i like fast progression when starting out) and it runs stable at 200 for the first few years. I mean, if I need to buy a new motherboard and cpu, so be it, but I'd like to see if it's my system or something that I'm doing wrong first.Īnyone have any other ideas? Much obliged! I'd love to send my game to someone with great fps to see if it's genuinely just my system, or something in the saved game (if anyone is up for that feel free to leave an email and I can send a link) Anyone have any idea what would cause this slow fps dropping over time that is not recoverable? Removed weather effects (and any other optional effect) and it made no impact.Īnd so I want to start a new game, but I don't know how to prevent this from happening in the future. I started the map at 5x3 instead of 4x4 (1 block smaller at least)ĩ. With a population of less than 10 and almost no inventory, 1080p is still at around 17-20fps.ħ. ![]() ![]() I changed my resolution to LESS than 640x480 (smallest window and zoom size) and it then jumped to 70. I set all the high and low traffic areas.ĥ. I removed all rooms, stockpiles and tried locking down areas-and no change. I got floating items down to less than 1000-and it made no difference that I could notice.ģ. My inventory was probably near 15,000 at some point, and then I destroyed everything with the atom smasher. I killed every dwarf-had a marginal effect, maybe just 3-4 fps.Ģ. I'm completely not a programmer, but I know a lot of you are, maybe you have some ideas?ġ. Like an old school hard drive that eventually gets completely fragmented. My current hypothesis is that there is something going on that builds up over time that is not able to be fixed at a certain point. My max population is 100,and over time I'm averaging 17fps (max)-but it starts off at around 50. Then I spent 5 hours or so today just testing things out. I have read every tip and hint and spent quite a while browsing this forum to collect ideas to try. I have a very high end PC, with a 9900k cpu (the only possible upgrade) Hi All-I assure you I've tried a ton of stuff.
